“Trust”

Trust held with another person or a group of people, is a refuge against fear, isolation and despair. It is the creative base from which solutions to difficult situations can come. Now more than ever there is a need to join together. The forum dialogue will focus on elements key to building trusting relationships respecting diverse perspectives. Participants will discuss support and belonging that they have experienced around issues and concerns that they have encountered.

Our goal is to act on the call to community healing and reconciliation. Participants will join community leaders, to reflect on considerations and options for getting and staying connected with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues while discussing the issues.

We believe that the call to be a loving and just community is significant to life in our community. This scriptural imperative is especially significant now when anti LGBTQ hate based religious rhetoric threatens our lives and well being. We meet in the strength and love of community, attesting to how shame and guilt are disarmed.

Welcome to a safe place of radical hospitality.

“Healing”

Pain is part of life, and so is wonder, beauty and happiness. Animosity and ill will caused by painful experiences disconnect a person from self and from others. Participants will discuss practices and processes in which they engage to move through pain toward understanding, healing and peace. Experiencing the moment to be at peace with self can establish a foundation to follow human nature and the desire to be compassionate and to be happy.

Our goal is to act on the call to community healing and reconciliation. Participants will join community leaders, to reflect on considerations and options for getting and staying connected with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues while discussing the issues.

Religious Oppression: Affirming Faith Forum

Join us for:

Affirming Faith Forum

“Religious Oppression”

Religion can be the foundation of a spiritual practice, a celebration of the energy inside each person that can honor the individual and draw people together into supportive, common unity. Using the principles of religious practice instead to judge and marginalize people, to deny the basic humanity of another, makes religious practices oppressive. So much so, that compassion and the care of another, just ways of treating each other, are blocked. Forum participants will discuss their experiences of religious oppression, obstacles encountered, and how they have removed barriers to promote their well-being, and that of the community.

Our goal is to act on the call to community healing and reconciliation. Participants will join community leaders, to reflect on considerations and options for getting and staying connected with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues while discussing the issues.
